Clare studied for her Foundation Degree on a full-time basis, and was not employed during this time. During the course she helped in the preparation of dairy cattle to represent Myerscough College at the Royal Lancashire Show, despite previously being very apprehensive of cows. Clare also managed to overcome periods of illness, particularly difficult personal circumstances and financial hardship while studying for her Foundation Degree.
