Danielle (Dee) studied for her Foundation Degree on a full-time b asis, while working as an Equine Events Centre administrative assistant at Myerscough College’s Equine Events Centre. She undertakes administrative and organisational tasks that are essential to the smooth running of the Events Centre, requiring commitment outside the hours of the normal working week (evenings and weekends).

On competition days, Dee acts as the ‘Show Secretary’, providing customer care to a range of external clients and support for competition judges. She also co-ordinates other students a nd members of staff in their roles in the practical running of events, and liaises with national organisational bodies.

Dee managed to complete her qualification in the standard two years, despite facing serious personal and physical difficulties. She is continuing to balance her work and studies within the Equine Events Centre and Myerscough, and has recently commenced the BA Equine Leisure Management (Top-Up) course at the University of Central Lancashire, demonstrating her continued commitment to furthering both her education and her career.
