Approaching 40 and wanting a career change after spending several years in the Electronics industry, Ian Lawson enrolled on the Foundation degree in Forensic Science at UCLan Penrith

Ian has progressed onto the full BSc (Hons) Forensic Science at UCLan in Preston and has also been lecturing on the Fd in Penrith, which he plans to continue after graduating this summer.

Ian says

"My work and life experience, together with skills from my hobby of photography got me accepted onto the course.

I enjoyed the range of topics covered by the course and many of the lecturers were practitioners.

Although the course was full-time I was relieved to find that I was able to balance the workload with my domestic and other commitments.’"
